These are some photos of the Prairieland Pickers at the Ohio Valley Gathering '08 in Owensboro, Kentucky in March of 2008.  There were a total of 427 people attending the festival this year. 

The Ohio Valley Gathering was hosted by the Louisville Dulcimer Society at the Executive Inn in Owensboro, Kentucky on the banks of the Ohio River. 

The open stage performances were outstanding this year,. The Hills of Kentucky; The Prairieland Pickers; The Central Indiana Folk Music and Mountain Dulcimer Society and Mandolindy affiliates; Chuck Flaim (Yellowbanks); Tom & Kathy Arnold; Taylor and Marty Shuck.


Below are some photos from the OVG Festival.


Sherry Watson with Bing Futch. Bing was one of the celebrities attending the festival.  You might notice from the picture that his dulcimer is a double neck dulcimer.

Sherry Watson on left with Dana Gruber; one of the workshop instructors.  Dana showed people how to play Beatles music on the Mountain Dulcimer.

This is a parade inside the Executive Inn Hotel.  Approximately 100 people attending the festival participated in the parade with many wearing Crazy Hats.
